| Fort
Myers HD down Ft. Myers Beach & back. 61 miles, 2 hours |
| Taking a slow ride
across Ft. Myers Beach is a relaxing way to spend a pleasant afternoon.
This run can be equally pleasurable north to south or south to north.
For our ride today, well be starting off at Fort
Myers Harley Davidson. The best route to the beach from Ft. Myers
HD is to head west on Colonial to McGregor Blvd, then south. McGregor
Blvd. turns into San Carlos Blvd. Heading south on San Carlos Blvd., we
ride across San Carlos Island and over the bridge onto Ft. Myers Beach.
At the base of the bridge take the left fork onto Estero Blvd. You will note that there are plenty of bike friendly establishments lining the boulevard. Crossing over Big Carlos Pass onto Lovers Key, pay attention to your speed, as local law enforcement likes to observe the flow of traffic. Once on Bonita Beach Road, take a right on to Vanderbilt Beach Road. Taking another right at 8th Street will bring you to Royal Scoop Homemade Ice Cream. After refreshments, head back to Bonita Beach Road and Turn east to Imperial Parkway. Imperial Parkway is a great way to bypass the harrowing adventure known as Highway 41. Imperial eventually turns into Three Oaks Parkway which currently ends at Alico Road. A right on Alico, then a left on Ben Hill Griffen Parkway/Treeline Avenue will bring you back to Colonial Blvd. A left here will lead you back to Ft. Myers HD. |
