Ronin Riding Club

by Mike “Tigger” Sergeys

Originally founded in 2007 after leaving a local law enforcement motorcycle club, I was immediately joined by three other members of the same club and by their wives. The number of original founders grew overnight to eight of us, four males and four females.

The name Ronin comes from the 1800's Samurai days. Ronin was a name given to any Samurai warrior who, due to his masters death or loss of fortune, found himself basically unemployed. The term means "master less warrior" and the name was contrived due to the fact that 4 of us had just stepped out of an MC and had thus lost our "masters" (this was meant in a slightly sarcastic manner) plus we had all served in the military or in law enforcement hence the inference of warriors. It sounded good to us so we took it.

RoninRC is a sub S corporation with dual tax exempt status as well as a non-profit organization. RoninRC is a motorcycle riding club, open to all riders male and female equally. The only requirements we have are that you must have a motorcycle and a license endorsement or be a rider on a motorcycle in order to be a fully patched member. We invite any style motorcycle including sport bikes, cruisers, touring bikes, choppers, and trikes as long as it can maintain highway speeds safely. Our main purpose is to get together and ride to have fun without a load of rules, regulations and restrictions. We ride safely and abide by the road rules and laws of every concerned state. We will primarily be supporting the March of Dimes Bikers for Babies events nationwide but are a community based organization and will attend any event we are available for. We also hold a weekly “family night” at varying locations. It is possible for any person to join and even to start a chapter in their area. This is NOT an MC, a religious group, nor is it mandatory for any member or friend to have ever been in the military, a firefighter, or a police officer....We welcome all to become friends and/or members. We do not require membership in order for you to attend our events or ride with us. Friends are a good thing. If you are interested we welcome you to visit our website, Ronin-Rc.org and see what we are all about. If you have questions or want to speak with someone directly about membership or events feel free to contact Tigger at roninrider1@gmail.com or call 239-770-0315. Remember, RIDE SAFE AND RIDE SMART!
